Sonic is terrified by a vivid
nightmare in which he is forced
to watch Sally be captured and
Roboticized, even as her ghostly
voice mocks him for failing. The
following morning, the Freedom
Fighters learn of a plan by
Robotnik to seed the clouds with
deadly chemicals, creating
storms of toxic rain that would
kill most of the plant life on
Mobius. Sally, Antoine, and
Bunnie use emptied-out SWAT Bot
shells to disguise themselves
with the intent of sneaking onto
the convoy delivering the
chemicals and find a way to
deactivate the seeding
mechanism, but are ultimately
caught and captured.
Sonic soon grows worried when
the group does not return, and
heads out to find out what
happened to them. Realizing they
have been captured, he follows
tread tracks left behind by the
convoy to an abandoned Chemical
Plant, where Robotnik is
preparing to release the toxins
into the air. After evading
various traps and troops, Sonic
finds the others and prepares to
free them, only for the sight of
one of Robotnik's ships to
trigger a day-dream vision of
his nightmare. Sonic ultimately
conquers his fears and frees the
others, stopping the seeding
mechanism in the process.
